Celebrating Creighton’s Jesuits: TheoloJay on Tap, Nov. 11

Our Creighton Jesuit community has an incredibly important role in how our mission becomes an integral part of our lives and work at Creighton, whether we are students, staff, faculty or administrators. The Revs. Larry Gillick, SJ, and Greg Carlson, SJ, are dedicated to mission-centric leadership.

For Graduate and Professional Students

Fr. Gillick and Fr. Carlson spoke about “Reverencing Relationships” at Campus Ministry’s first TheoloJay on Tap event of the year on Sept. 21, hosted at the Highlander Dining Room. TheoloJay on Tap provides a space for young adults in Creighton’s graduate and professional schools, as well as alumni from the last five years, to build community by reflecting on topics of faith in the world today through challenging and enriching conversations.

Please pass the word to your graduate and professional students about the next TheoloJay on Tap, at 7:30 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, Nov. 11, with Beth Samson, Campus Ministry’s Faith Formation Coordinator. Read more about TheoloJay on Tap.

For Faculty

Fr. Gillick and Fr. Carlson designed a program titled the Deglman Initiative for faculty to experience the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, and they are currently recruiting faculty for small groups during the spring semester. Read some responses from past faculty participants:

  • “This is the kind of opportunity that makes Creighton unique. It was such a privilege to explore the questions asked during the Spiritual Exercises with such good colleagues and two wonderful guides.”
  • “The initiative brought me closer to God and changed the way that I pray. It is a joy, and sometimes a struggle, to consider the gifts of each day. Grateful for the leadership of Fr. Carlson and Fr. Gillick, along with the opportunity to discuss spiritual practices with colleagues.”
  • “An invitation to explore personal spirituality through quietude, prayer, and reflection and a practical opportunity to deepen understanding of meaningful life at a Jesuit institution.”

If you are an interested faculty member and would like to participate in the spring semester or next fall, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
