Building Your Own Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Project, Sept. 30

Join the Center for Faculty Excellence for the Building Your Own Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Project seminar on Thursday, Sept. 30.

Maya Khanna, PhD, of the Department of Psychological Science, College of Arts & Sciences, will facilitate the program from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (CDT)/1:30 to 2:30 p.m. (MST) on Zoom. Get more information and register.

In this seminar, Khanna will provide a general overview of the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). She will also discuss the science of learning and memory and relate theories of each to pedagogical practice. In doing so, she will discuss ways that she has designed and conducted SoTL studies with her students in order to investigate ways to improve their learning and course performance. Khanna will also help seminar participants begin to think about questions that they could explore within their pedagogical practice.

Finally, Khanna will invite participants to attend follow-up workshops to help them design and implement their own SoTL studies within their classes. Through the course of the seminar and follow-up workshops, Khanna will work with interested faculty through their own SoTL projects from inception to design, implementation, data analyses, and dissemination.
