Grand Rounds: SOM Hosts ‘Creating an Inclusive Academic Medicine Environment’ on Sept. 29

Be part of an informative and insightful program on Wednesday, Sept. 29, for the School of Medicine’s Grand Rounds. ”Creating an Inclusive Academic Medicine Environment: Chasing a Diversity Narrative” is noon to 1 p.m. (CDT), 10 to 11 a.m. (MST). Join via Zoom.

Featured speakers are Ronn Johnson, PhD, ABPP, professor of psychiatry and associate dean for Diversity and Inclusion at Creighton University School of Medicine, and Renuga Vivekanandan, MD, associate professor of Internal Medicine and chief of the Infectious Disease Division of the Department at Internal Medicine at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center.

Inclusion is a mission-driven facet of diversity at a Jesuit medical school. This session seeks to:

  • explain why inclusion deserves more attention in academic medical settings
  • increase the perceptions of equity and inclusion in academic medicine
  • show how actions of inclusion speak louder than words
  • share ideas for creating an inclusive environment for learners
