Creighton has embarked on a climate survey that, over the next three weeks, will gather impressions about the learning and working environment at the University.
Simply put, climate is NOT about the weather. Instead, it is defined as, “the current attitudes, behaviors and standards of faculty, staff, administrators and students, as well as Creighton University’s environment and policies which influence the level of respect for individual needs, abilities and potential.” The climate survey asks participants a variety of questions to better understand the unique experiences of individuals at Creighton.
The purpose of the survey is not just to learn about perceptions of the University’s climate. Instead, it is an important method of determining the types of initiatives in which to engage, in order to foster a University environment where there is inclusion and a sense of belongingness. In order to determine the best steps to take in order to increase experiences of inclusion for our students, faculty and staff, it is important for everyone to participate.
