Creighton’s incoming first-year undergraduate students will move into residential halls from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 14. Due to the extended hours of this year’s event, there will be significant impacts on parking and traffic flow for faculty, staff, other students, and visitors to campus during these times. Faculty and staff who are able to work from home can discuss this option with their managers.
Move-In Traffic
Our incoming students will be directed to Lot 48, entering from Cuming St., then proceeding to Deglman, Swanson, and Kiewit Halls using Burt St., 24th St., and Wareham Pkwy.
Traffic and Parking Impacts
Street Closures (throughout Move-In):
- Southbound 24th St. at Cuming St.
- Northbound 24th St. at Cass St. Traffic can only turn east at the roundabout toward the Law School.
- Westbound Burt St. at 24th St.
- Eastbound Burt St. at Wareham Pkwy.
24th St. Garage (Top Level):
- Approach 24th St. on Burt St. from the east. The officer at that intersection will direct traffic southbound in the east lane to the top of the garage.
- Traffic will only be able to leave the top of the garage southbound to Cass St. and turn east from the roundabout.
Lots 75/76/77 (West of Criss):
- Approach Wareham Pkwy. on Burt St. from the west. The officer at that intersection will direct traffic southbound on Wareham Pkwy. Park on either side of Wareham Pkwy or turn left into the lots next to Criss.
- Traffic will only be able to leave these lots northbound through the parking lots by Criss, then turn westbound on Burt St., proceeding to 30th St.
Lot 68 (Solar Panels):
- Access only from Cuming St. and park at the west end of the lot.
- Traffic will only be able to leave through the south exit onto Burt St., then turn westbound on Burt St., proceeding to 30th St.
Additionally, in preparation for the Welcome Week Mass and the President’s Picnic at Morrison Stadium, no parking will be allowed in Lots E75 and E85 after 6 p.m. on Thursday evening, Aug. 12, through Sunday morning, Aug. 15.
Deliveries and visitors to campus should be scheduled on alternate days as much as possible. Any deliveries that will need to access closed streets during Move-In must be coordinated with Public Safety by Aug. 10.
