Kurtyka Publishes Article About Cortina with Help from Undergraduate Researchers

Faith KurtykaAssociate professor of English, Faith Kurtyka, PhD, had her article “Be a Liberation Whatever”: Social Justice Literacy in a Living-Learning Community” published in the Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning. The article demonstrates how students learn “social justice literacy” through the Creighton’s Cortina Living-Learning Community. Thanks to a grant from Creighton’s Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship, Kurtyka wrote the article with the assistance of undergraduates researchers Isabelle Senechal, Carly Rademacher, Mariam Abiyou, and Garret Fox, who conducted interviews and analyzed data.
