On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, Tim Dickel, EdD, professor of education, received the Alumni Award for Excellence in Public Service from the Department of Gerontology, College of Public Affairs and Community Service, University of Nebraska at Omaha. Dr. Dickel earned a graduate certificate in gerontology in 1984, and in the years since helped start the first support group for Alzheimer’s family members in Omaha, was a co-founding member of the Association for Adult Development and Aging, taught the life span development course within the master’s program in counseling, and has published in the area of counseling skills in gerontology.
