Nystrom Appointed Acting Assistant Dean

SPAHP_Nystrom_KellyKelly Nystrom, PharmD, has been appointed acting assistant dean for academic affairs in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.

Nystrom has worked for Creighton University for more than 17 years. She provides clinical pharmacy services for the inpatient oncology unit at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy and teaches an elective in the oncology rotation for fourth-year pharmacy students. She also teaches half of the oncology sequence in the pharmacotherapeutics elective and is a preceptor in the pharmacy practice residency.

Nystrom was the first state board-certified oncology pharmacist in Nebraska and has one daughter, Olivia, who is 14 and will start high school in the fall at Mercy High School.

“Dr. Nystrom has a significant level of experience working as an academic advisor, as a CARE Program advisor, and has served on many committees for the school, programs and at the University level in relationship to the education, successes and betterment of students,” said Paul Price, PharmD, BCPP, senior associate dean in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs. “She is the embodiment of our Ignatian Catholic mission and I look forward to working with her.”

Nystrom will begin to transition to this role affective immediately with an official start date of May 1. She replaces Amy Wilson, PharmD’95, who is assuming the role of interim dean.
