Phoenix Campus Anatomy Lab Director Gray Named to Business Journal’s 40 Under 40

Kayla Gray, Director of Health Sciences- Anatomy Lab – Phoenix Regional Campus, has been named to the 2021 Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 under 40. A virtual award ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. Aug. 5.

The annual event recognizes a new class of 40 talented honorees who have shaped the Valley in ways that make it a better place to work and live. Selected by a panel of regional judges, from nearly 450 applicants, awardees are considered to be dynamic and innovative leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit, according to the PBJ.

Gray ensures the success of the Phoenix Regional Campus’ Anatomy Lab across all of the health science professionals. She also is the Director of the Knowledge Donor Program, a Creighton and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center collaboration, where she is instituting a new, innovative alternative to teach and learn medicine utilizing unique anatomical models.

“To be selected as one of Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 under 40 is humbling. I see the honor as my call to action to continue to make the Valley a better place to work and live, especially for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM),” Gray said.

Gray is an active member of her community and within her field, she currently is a co-chair of the Valley of the Sun Chapter of Society of Clinical Research Associates, the chair of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations’ Organ Donation Research Council, and an Irish Cultural Learning Foundation board member.

She studied at Case Western Reserve University where she received two bachelor’s degrees, in theater and chemical biology, and master’s certificates in applied anatomy and neurobiology. She also holds a master’s in strategic design and innovative management from Parson’s New School.
