Rupprecht’s PR Campaigns Class Wins 2nd Place in 2021 National Organ Donor Awareness Competition

Peggy Rupprecht’s, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science, Design and Journalism, students in last spring’s PR Campaigns class (JRM 445) have won 2nd place in the 2021 National Organ Donor Awareness Competition. The award will be presented at the PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) International Conference in October in Orlando. This was the inaugural year PR students participated in the event, and the first time this class was offered in the department.

There were 16 students in the class, divided into two teams of eight. The two teams competed against one another to be Creighton’s representative in the national competition. Both campaigns were strong, but ultimately, the “Be Creighton. Be a Donor” campaign was selected for the national competition. Students on this team incorporated the Ignatian values into their campaign.
