Katie Wadas Thalken, MEd, director of Academic Success; Shawn Cook, MPA, assistant dean of Student Affairs; Amy Wilson, PharmD, associate dean for Academics and Student Affairs; and Kevin Powers, PhD, academic success consultant, all from the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions (SPAHP), recently presented at a regional conference of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), held in Lincoln, Nebraska. Their topic, “Relationships Blossom: Improving Student and Faculty Engagement in Academic Advising,” focused on cultivating advising relationships, particularly at the graduate and professional levels. The presentation highlighted one of SPAHP’s successful efforts to create a more intentional advising experience, resulting in stronger engagement and academic success.
