Haunted House Interprofessional Medical Error Simulation Competition

American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) Operation Heart and Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research (CIPER) held an interactive competition called Haunted House Interprofessional Medical Error Simulation on Monday, Oct. 30 as part of interprofessional education passport activity. Students, campus and distance, worked collaboratively as interprofessional teams to identify medical errors. The teams that identified the most errors are:

First Place Team 1 ($175): Morgan Busboom (PT), Katrina Farris (Pharmacy), Brianne McMahon (OT), Melanie Sowards (Pharmacy), Leandra Stuckey (PT)

Second Place Team 6 ($135): Morgan Britton (OT), Stephanie Cox (Pharmacy), Taylor Dalbey (OT), Carmen Gust (Pharmacy), Nicholas Kellerhals (OT), Courtney Milius (PT), Madison Ridler (PT), Caroline Schmidt (OT), Hannah Schramm (OT), Claire Svoboda (OT), Lena-Marie Volkers (OT)

Third Place Team 4 ($100): Lauri Ann Abell (Pharmacy), Courtney Cahow (OT), Kaitlyn Ellerman (OT), Jennifer Flynn (Pharmacy), Kate Friedman (Nursing)

There was also an opportunity for faculty to participate in the inaugural Haunted House Faculty Interprofessional Medical Error Simulation Competition. Hardeep Chehal, DDS, Cathy Carrico DNP, APRN-NP, FNP and Stacey Dull PharmD, BCPS were crowned the winners.
