- Beginning this summer, GEO contracted a travel security company, iJET, to conduct detailed destination safety reviews before programs are approved. Additionally, they provide a smart-phone app through which Creighton travelers can receive safety alerts and can check-in whenever we send out a communication request so that we can quickly account for all our travelers in any emergency. The iJET app also has an emergency hotline to immediately connect our travelers with someone 24/7 to address most any circumstance and contact us at Creighton according to a pre-established communication protocol. Creighton travelers are reminded that that according to the University’s Travel Policy they must register all international travel on behalf of the University at http://www.creighton.edu/geo/travelregistrationinsurance/. Travelers or their departments will be required to pay the usual $50.00 for travelers insurance once per year, and GEO will absorb the cost for the iJET service.
