- Jill Fox, PhD, director of the IELI and Bridge to Creighton programs, completed her doctorate in May at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her dissertation title was, “Transitioning to a U.S. university: Case studies of Chinese students and an intensive English program.”
- Along with providing instruction in academic English through the IELI and Bridge to Creighton programs, IELI instructional staff provide support to international SPAHP students and Creighton medical residents through special courses and departmental collaborations. The IELI also serves as a resource to Creighton faculty and staff for English as a second language and cross-cultural issues.
- IELI Instructor Susan Sullivan-Tuncan, MA, along with SPAHP faculty and staff Kim Begley, PharmD, Karen O’Brien, PharmD, and Katie Wadas-Thalken, MEd, had their proposal accepted to present at the Nebraska Women in Higher Education Leadership Conference this September at Union College in Lincoln; the theme is “Transforming Challenges into Meaningful Opportunities.”
