McRorie Awarded Grant from Templeton Foundation

Christina McRorieChristina McRorie, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Theology, is one of a group of scholars that has been awarded a grant from the Templeton Foundation to study “Collaborative Inquiries in Theological Anthropology.” The grant will run from 2020-2023, and its central goal will be to foster theological scholarship on human nature that engages empirical research within the sciences that is answerable to standards of excellence in three fields at once: theology, the individual scientific disciplines, and the philosophy of science. McRorie’s research proposal is for a project that will engage economics to challenge pervasively individualist conceptions of human agency, and to reflect on the complex ways that social institutions both constrain and support moral agency and human flourishing.
