Alston Recognized on Congressional Floor

alstonCreighton professor Littleton Alston, MFA, was recently recognized on the floor of the U.S. Congress by Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska for his lifetime contributions as a renowned artist and professor. Bacon read a statement to Congress on Feb. 11, in recognition of Black History Month, honoring Alston. Alston is the first African American commissioned to create a sculpture for National Statuary Hall at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., and is currently working on 7-foot bronze statue of Nebraska writer Willa Cather for that project.
