Neena Nizar, a student in the Doctorate of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership Program has been named the 2018 Nebraska Mother of the Year by the Nebraska Mothers Association, a chapter of American Mothers Inc. Governor Pete Ricketts read the proclamation on March 23 at the Nebraska state capitol building.
Nizar has also been made the Rare Disease Ambassador for the State of Nebraska and was a part of the proclamation of the National Organization for Rare Diseases nationwide observance of a Rare Disease Day on February 28. In 2017, Neena founded the Jansen’s Foundation dedicated to raising awareness and funding for Jansen’s Metaphyseal Chondrodysplasia Disease, a rare skeletal disease.
