Andy Gustafson, Ph.D., associate professor in the Heider College of Business, made two presentations on June 7 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Gaming and Risk Taking Conference. One presentation was on how bookies and businessmen from Omaha, including alumnus Mr. Jackie (John) Gaughan, BSC’46, helped to begin a number of the early Las Vegas casinos, which led some refer to Las Vegas as “Little Omaha.” The second presentation was “A Utilitarian Analysis of Whether or Not Casinos Contribute to the Common Good.”
