New Fraternity to Join Creighton IFC Community in January 2020

Delta Chi International Fraternity and Creighton University are excited to announce the return of Delta Chi on campus, beginning in the spring 2020 semester.

“[We] are looking for an organization that is values-centered, is committed to educating and forming men in a holistic manner, has a strong academic and service-oriented foundation, provides an experience to our men that is engaging, and has a headquarters that is willing to partner with the University and IFC,” Katie Kelsey, Director of the Student Leadership and Involvement Center, said.

After assessing the needs of the Fraternity and Sorority Life Community, Creighton’s InterFraternity Council (IFC) was approved for the expansion process by Katie Kelsey, Michele Bogard, PhD, and Tanya Winegard, PhD, Vice Provost of Student Life.

The IFC started the expansion process this past spring semester, putting out an open call to all national fraternities through the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC).With the assistance of its expansion committee comprised of students, faculty and staff, the IFC narrowed the search from 20 organizations to three. Those three organizations were interviewed by students, faculty, and staff in late October. The fraternity of Delta Chi was chosen as the best fit for Creighton’s community and will participate in the upcoming spring formal recruitment. There is also a pending colonization for the fraternity Pi Kappa Phi, in the spring of 2021.
