The Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska was created by the Nebraska Legislature and is located at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. It is a collaborative effort between all University of Nebraska campuses, Creighton University, consumers and family members, community agencies, law enforcement, hospitals, and governmental entities.

The BHECN Executive Committee provides advice, guidance, and support for the continuing development of high quality programs and best practices at BHECN.

Banzhaf is interested in networking with professionals across the state to address the psychiatric-mental health needs of individuals to enhance knowledge, understanding, and an awareness of the unique needs and opportunities to support this population.

“The shortage of psychiatric-mental health professionals in the state of Nebraska is critical. It is imperative that we help address the need for providers using an innovative, and inter-profession approach - one that inspires dialogue and builds relationships and partnerships to drive quality outcomes.” said Banzhaf.
