My.creighton.edu Intranet Part of New Website Rollout on Dec. 6

As Creighton President the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD, announced in a video message to campus on Nov. 16, the University will unveil an exciting, innovative new website experience at creighton.edu on Monday, Dec. 6.

The initiative has involved identifying, reorganizing and relocating more than 20,000 pages on Creighton’s website. The  creighton.edu  website serves as one of Creighton’s most important student recruitment tools, attracting nearly 30,000 unique visits every day, and the new site will focus on engaging and attracting prospective students and their families.

The “soft launch” on Dec. 6 will include the rollout of the first phase of the new site (Creighton.edu) and Creighton’s new intranet site for current students, faculty and staff (my.creighton.edu).

My.creighton.edu

This site will serve as the University’s internal website – or intranet – with a focus on serving current students, faculty and staff. More than 1,000 internal pages have been identified as part of the  my.creighton.edu  site. These include faculty and staff resources pages for the schools and colleges; recreation, wellness, health and counseling pages; HR pages on benefits and employee resources; and more.

This site will feature a powerful new search function that will provide users with faster, more comprehensive searches.  My.creighton.edu  will also allow for greater personalization, with students, faculty and staff having the ability to select apps to meet their unique needs.

On Dec. 6, faculty, staff and students are encouraged to set  my.creighton.eduas their home page for quick access to Creighton’s new intranet. With this transition, internet search engines such as Google will return results for the externally focused creighton.edu site. This article provides information on how to set your home page for various browsers.

Unlike Creighton’s previous web redesigns, a primary focus of the new website experience is migrating current content from five web platforms to one, which will allow for greater flexibility, continuous improvement and scalability of the site now and into the future. With this approach, the website will continue to be adjusted and fine-tuned after the “soft launch” on Dec. 6.

Creighton’s web teams, working in collaboration with campus partners from all areas of the University, identified and classified internal-facing and external-facing pages on the University’s current website.

With the “soft launch,” web page owners will continue the current process for updating their pages. Internal pages will be migrated to the new design in the first half of 2022, at which time page owners will be notified and receive training.
