A Collaborative Effort: Creighton’s Mission and the Universal Apostolic Preferences

On Nov. 10, Eileen Burke-Sullivan, STD, vice president of the Division of Mission and Ministry, invited members of the following groups to a virtual gathering: Creighton Theology Department, Mission and Ministry, Creighton Retreat Center, Magis Catholic Teacher Corps and the professional school chaplains.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the continued implementation of the Jesuit values and mission in work. During small-group discussions, attendees discussed what drew them to Creighton and how they are implementing, or hope to implement, the Universal Apostolic Preferences. The desired outcome of this gathering is to open a discussion about possible areas of greater or more effective collaboration between these groups.

There will be an in-person meeting in the spring to continue to develop these mission-centric relationships. Burke-Sullivan encouraged everyone to continue to search for collaborative avenues in all areas of the Catholic, Jesuit mission of Creighton between now and then.
