As Fr. Hendrickson announced in the Town Hall last week, for the 2022 benefit year Creighton is switching our pharmacy benefit manager from Optum Rx to Express Scripts. It is important to note that we will maintain United Healthcare as our medical plan provider for 2022, with the continued choice of either the CCAP or PPO plans.
Express Scripts works with pharmacies and organizations like Creighton to make the process of purchasing prescription medication easier and less costly. By moving to Express Scripts, we expect to decrease the financial burden of prescription drug costs for employees of the University, doing so with as little impact as possible.
The move to Express Scripts is anticipated to result in minimal impact for most employees and resources will be available to help all employees enrolled in the medical plan to prepare for the change. Our annual open enrollment period takes place Nov. 3-17.
