Physical Therapy Department Recruiting Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders for Horse Therapy Study

The department of Physical Therapy at Creighton University is currently looking for 5 to 10 year old children with autism spectrum disorder to participate in a study that involves therapy with horses. Specifically, we are looking at how performing occupational therapy on a horse can help children improve their social and movement skills.

Participants will receive with no cost six therapy sessions in six weeks. Participants should have no prior experience with therapy on a horse and have medical approval for participation. The treatment sessions and assessments will take place at the Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy at Gretna, Nebraska.

For more information and details on the project please contact Dr. Anastasia Kyvelidou at [email protected] or Maya Almazloum at [email protected]. For more information, call 402-280-5749, leave your phone number and you will be called back.
