Kimberley Begley, PharmD, Presents at Annual Meeting of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy

Kimberley Begley, PharmD, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, presented a live virtual session at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy entitled “Better Together: Supporting Pharmaceutical Care Skills Through Interprofessional Activities.”

The session emphasized Interprofessional Education (IPE) and drew attention to the importance of pharmacy programs to prepare students to provide entry-level, patient-centered care as a contributing member of an interprofessional team.

The presentation discussed the need for schools and colleges of pharmacy to undergo an evidence-based programmatic redesign focusing on the interprofessional nature of healthcare, including embedding required IPE activities within their Skills Labs. She co-presented with Drs. Barnett and Gallimore from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and Dr. Van Hooser from the University of Minnesota.
