Creighton Department of Physics faculty Janet Seger, PhD, professor, and Michael Cherney, PhD, professor emeritus, current and former post-doctorals David Tlusty and Jaroslav Adam, and former undergraduate students Joey D’Alesio and Emma Dufresne, had a research article published in the journal Nuclear Instruments and Methods.
The article is titled “Upgrade of Hardware Controls for the STAR Experiment at RHIC”. It outlines the Python-based object-oriented replacement of legacy software that monitors and controls existing subsystems of the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Lab, as well as the development of new software to monitor and control recently-added subsystems.
