SPAHP_Bracciano_AlfredAlfred G. Bracciano, EdD, OTR/L, FAOTA, professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and coordinator of the Creighton Alaska Entry-Level Distance Pathway has been appointed to the Occupational Therapy Interstate Compact Advisory Group charged with developing the language and framework for licensure portability and is a collaborative effort between American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), National Board for Certificate in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and the Council for State Governments (CSG). The end goal is to create and implement an interstate licensure compact to allow state licensure reciprocity so that occupational therapists could practice in multiple states and improve access to occupational therapy services.
Bracciano was originally appointed by AOTA to serve on initial AOTA Ad Hoc Committee on Licensure Portability in which they researched the interest in, need and options for licensure portability, submitting a report to the AOTA Representative Assembly leading to this collaborative project. Bracciano served as a board member and chair of the Nebraska Occupational Therapy License Board, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
