- R. Collin Mangrum, JD, SJD, professor of law and the AA and Ethel Yossem endowed chair in legal ethics, presented the all-day continuing legal education seminar “Answers to 21 Expert Testimony Questions” on Nov. 29, 2018 in Omaha that was attended by 100 attorneys. On Dec. 18, 2018, he presented his all-day lecture “Mangrum and Benson on Utah Evidence” in Salt Lake City. Mangrum’s 2019 edition of Mangrum and Benson on Utah Evidence was published in December 2018.
- Edward Morse, JD, professor of law and the McGrath North Mullin and Kratz endowed chair in business law, presented speeches to Catholic business leaders at Legatus chapters on Nov. 15, 2018 in Dallas; and on Jan. 16, 2019 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He also presented at the 13th annual Jack North Annual Program on Important Developments in Federal Income Tax to the Great Plains Institute in November 2018 in Omaha.
- Stephen Sieberson, JD, PhD, professor of law, took part in Creighton’s Global Exchange Office’s Faculty Exchange Program last semester. He taught “The American Legal System: The Common Law in the United States and the Common Law Method of Case Adjudication” during select dates in October 2018 at Universidad Católica del Uruguay (Catholic University of Uruguay Montevideo Campus).
- Sean Watts, JD, LLM, professor of law, published “Humanitarian Logic and the Law of Siege” as a lead article in International Law Studies (ILS), volume 95. ILS is the peer-reviewed journal of the United States Naval War College. It is the oldest international law publication in the United States, first published in 1895. Watts’ article examines a United Nations-commissioned study of international law regulating humanitarian access and relief operations during sieges.
