Continuous Improvement Training

During October 2017, the first session of Continuous Improvement training was kicked off at Creighton. This training was offered to a limited group of faculty and staff with the goal of acquiring new tools and techniques designed to enhance work on continuous improvement initiatives. The twelve-hour course was offered by Dr. Nalini Govindarajulu through the Creighton Business Institute (now part of the Center for Professional and Corporate Excellence). Participants were then required to apply their learning to projects in their areas.

On April 26, 2018, the class participants presented these projects to each other and Dr. Thomas Murray, Provost, and Dan Burkey, Senior Vice President for Operations. These projects have impacts such as cost avoidance, time savings, and process efficiency. Congratulations to this inaugural group on achieving yellow belt certification in Lean Six Sigma! The next cohort is currently being formed for training scheduled to begin in October 2018. Interested parties should contact Maureen Holstein, Continuous Improvement Leader, at [email protected] or 402-280-4222.
