Guy McHendry, PhD, assistant professor, communication studies, recently edited a special issue of the Journal of Contemporary Rhetoric on White Supremacy in the Age of Trump. The issue is comprised of an introductory essay authored by McHendry and seven full-length manuscripts on a variety of topics including the so-called Alt Right, anti-Semitism, and Trump’s response to the violence at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville. The issue offers a complex look at the ways “Trump’s rhetoric—both in enunciation and silence—stands upon the bedrock of white supremacy.”
